Why the Circle
What makes it different.
Curation with complete discretion
We don't gatekeep on job titles. We actively engineer a room where collaboration works and conflict doesn't. We won't invite anyone on our “no” list. We won't seat direct competitors together. One seat per profession per meeting, so referrals and candour actually flow. That discretion is deliberate. It's the point.
You keep 100% of your work
No referral fees. No cut. Ever. We're not a referral platform taking a slice of what you pass or receive. If a Circle member sends you work, it's yours. If you send work to another member, it's theirs. Whatever fee arrangement you agree between you is between you.
Vetted the way a law firm vets people
Because that's what we are. Every applicant runs through basic DBS certificate, Companies House and adverse-media checks, identity and address confirmation, two references taken up, and a minuted sponsor interview. The room is checked, not just paid-up.
Chatham House, enforced
Every meeting. Every forum post. Every direct message between members. Watermarked with your identity on every page. Moderated by the founders. Full audit trail. No screenshots, no recording, no WhatsApp group. What's said in the room stays in the room, and we can prove it.

A vetted member directory
Search the room by name, profession or town. Everyone in it has been through the same door, so an introduction actually means something.
Four working boards
Referrals, Problems, Recommendations and Circle News. Ask the room a question, pass on an opportunity, or recommend someone you genuinely rate.
Private messages
One-to-one, watermarked, no attachments. Reach a member directly when a thread is better had in private. No noise, no read receipts.
Events and meetings
Online for now, in person in Kent to follow. RSVP, manage your seat, add it to your calendar, and see who else is coming.
A concierge search
Tell it what you need in plain English and it points you at the right member, thread or article. The room, distilled to an answer.
Suggestions, acted on
Tell the founders what would make the Circle better. "You said, we did" shows what actually changed. This is your club too.
The idea
Why we exist
Most business networks make you choose. Some are boardrooms, bring a problem and get eight people to help you think about it. Others are referral machines, bring a lead a week or you're out.
The Bonsai Circle is the first to open both doors, in the same meeting, to the same trusted room. Come with a referral if you have one. Come with a problem if you have one. Come to listen if that's what you need this week. Nobody counts. Nobody scores. Nothing is recorded. Nothing leaves the room.
Every member is chosen and vetted before they walk in. Every meeting runs under Chatham House Rule. Every conversation between meetings runs on our own moderated forum, not on WhatsApp.
