1. Scope
This notice covers the pages at bonsai.law/circle and its subpages, including the member area and the forum. The Bonsai Law main-site cookie notice at bonsai.law/cookies covers the rest of bonsai.law.
2. What we use
The Circle pages use only strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies whose use does not require your consent under regulation 6(4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.

We do not use:
- analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no equivalent);
- advertising cookies;
- social-plugin cookies;
- third-party tracking pixels.
3. Local storage
We use a small amount of browser local storage for:
- draft posts you have not yet submitted, so you do not lose them on refresh;
- unread-post markers for the forum;
- your chosen forum board layout.
Local storage entries are held on your device and are not sent to us.
4. Watermarking
The identity watermark rendered on member-area and forum pages is not a cookie. It is a per-page rendering feature. See section 11 of the Privacy Notice.
5. Payment provider cookies
If you pay us via Stripe, Stripe places its own cookies on your device to prevent fraud. Stripe's cookie policy applies to those cookies.
6. Managing cookies
Your browser lets you refuse or delete cookies. If you refuse `bc_session` and `bc_csrf` you will not be able to sign in to the member area or the forum.

Material changes to this notice will be communicated by Circle News and email.
